Selena Gomez debuted a fresh set of bangs, paired with choppy layers and natural curls, on social media just in time for summer. See the “Who Says” singer’s dramatic hair transformation.
Selena Gomez got herself some bang, bang, bangs.
The “Calm Down” singer traded in her sleek grown out bob, which was often styled in a slicked back bun or a high ponytail, for textured bangs and shag-like choppy layers to perfectly complement her summer curls.
“I would, but I’d regret it,” Selena captioned a June 23 Instagram post of herself showing off her new ‘do in a white bathrobe, “then get it redone so I simply won’t.”
And this isn’t the first time the 32-year-old experimented with a fresh set of bangs. Indeed, she debuted a bottleneck fringe at the Los Angeles premiere of friend Nicola Peltz Beckham’s film Lola last February.
More recently, the Only Murders in the Building star also helped her fiancé Benny Blanco undergo a transformation of his own, cheering on her makeup artist Hung Vanngo on as he plucked the record producer’s unibrow.
"I wanted it to still look like him," Selena told host Drew Barrymore during her and Benny’s joint appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in March, adding with a sigh, "This was not my idea."
But while she was all for the subtle transformation that ended up going viral on social media, Benny was simply tired of her makeup artist trying to convince him to let him shape up his eyebrows.
"He begged me," the 37-year-old quipped. "He’s been begging me for so long."
After all, Benny and Selena—who announced their engagement in December—have a wedding to prepare for. But despite online speculation that the couple has officially set a date for the ceremony, which was accidentally fueled by Ed Sheeran, the songwriter admitted they hadn’t quite gotten that far. He did, however, tease that his pal would be getting an invite when the time comes.
"Eventually Ed will come to our wedding when we do have one," Benny—who cowrote "Don't" and several other of the Grammy winner's songs—said on Australia's Today show earlier this month, "but unfortunately, we have not scheduled one yet. But we will."
As for why the duo—who began dating in July 2023—are taking their time with their nuptials? Well, Benny previously made it clear that he and Selena are enjoying the sweet time they get to spend as an engaged couple.
"We’re very much 'take it one day at a time'-type of people," he told Rolling Stone in March. "We’re still not over this moment."
