 December 30th, 2017  |  08:32 AM  |   1480 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

A local man has been slapped with a 100 dollar compound for an offence under the Minor Offences Act, Chapter 30, which is littering in a public place. He has been given a week to settle the fine.

17-year-old Muhammad Nurfitri Zaini bin Kadir was found to have made the offence during an integrated operation, codenamed Ops Bersih, conducted at the vicinity of the parking area near Kampung Tamoi mosque. The operation involved enforcement agencies from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Brunei Muara District office, Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department and the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, JASTRe. The operation was conducted to raise public awareness and instil a sense of responsibility in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of public places which are frequented by the public and tourists. The relevant enforcement agencies will continue to conduct OPS BERSIH and will take action against individuals or companies found violating the Minor Offences Act, Chapter 30.
