BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Hawa FT ended their campaign in the 2017 Brunei DST Playoffs with a thumping 5-1 win over Besa FC in Group A at the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Field last Sunday.

The pair contested a dead rubber after seeing their qualification hopes to the Brunei DST Premier League instantly dashed with emphatic defeats to DSP United, who marched on to the country's second tier.

DSP United, who came close to earning a berth last year, will be joined by Group 'B' winners Tunas FC after the latter completed Kilanas FC's freefall who suffered back-to-back relegations.

Hawa had to come from behind following Md Hairolazrine's 16th minute effort but Md Ghazi impressed with a hat-trick in the 27th, 54th and 65th minutes before Jasnie Juri converted a 70th minute penalty and Zainol adding gloss to the win two minutes from time.

The pair suffered emphatic defeats at the expense of DSP with Hawa receiving a 6-0 thrashing and Besa outplayed in a 4-0 loss.

Despite the victory, both teams will not be involved in the second division this term as well as MSN United and Kilanas FC.
