The Co-Curriculum Education Department under the Ministry of Education (MoE) will host the larian Terima Kasih Cikgu' (Thank You Teacher Run) at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien in the capital oh November 20.

The announcement was made yesterday during a media conference by Haji Aziz bin Haji Nayan, the acting director of the Co-Curriculum Education, in his capacity as chairman of the executive committee for the event.

Also present were Roslin bin Suhailee, the acting assistant director of the department and deputy chairman ofthe executive committee; and Pengiran Jusri bin Pengiran Haji Hassim, the secretary of the organising committee.

The run is being held as part of the recent Teacher's Day celebrations, highlighting the MoE's ongoing effort to uphold a healthy lifestyle and promote goodwill among officers and staff members.

Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman is expected to officiate as the guest of honour at the sporting event.

Specially made T-shirts will go on sale at the venue to raise money for MoE's Welfare Fund and donations for the Brunei Children's Cancer Foundation.

The run will be split into two categories - 4km male category and 3km female category. It is open to participation from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as students and members of the public in general.

Registration forms can be downloaded through www. moe.gov.bn, or obtained at the department's office branches in all four districts.

All registration and payment counters will be open trom Monday to Thursday and on Saturday at 9am to 3.30pm. The closing date for entries is November 1.
