MPRT's Permanent Secretary Received Courtesy Visit from Pakistan's Deputy High Commissioner

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Dr. Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin recently received a visit from the Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam, Ahmed Ali Sirohey.

 

The permanent secretary briefed the diplomat on the investment opportunities in the Sultanate and also the incentives for investors in pioneer sectors, according to a press release from the Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam.

 

The two officials also discussed the eco-tourism that is found in Brunei.

 

The Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan spoke about the culture and heritage found in Pakistan and the diversity which its regions offer to visitors.

 

The possibility of holding a cultural event that feature arts and craft, music and dance, goods and products from different regions of Pakistan was also discussed.

 

The event would be held under the auspices of Brunei's Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.

 

The deputy high commissioner also recently met with the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binti Haji Umar who offered condolences over the Lahore terrorist attack.

 

She said she appreciated the strong defence relations between the two countries and praised Pakistan for achieving many milestones in the defence industry.

 

The deputy high commissioner informed her that Pakistan cherished the friendly relations with Brunei Darussalam.

 

He explained the facilities available at the training institutes of the armed services in Pakistan. He also spoke on Pakistan's arms and ammunition industry and its cost effectiveness. A defence expo will be held this year in Pakistan and Brunei's Ministry of Defence will be invited to send a delegation to witness the live demonstration of military equipment.
