Think fishing is all about sitting on the bank with a few cans of Carlsberg, a sunhat and some salt and vinegar crisps?

You’ve been doing it wrong.

Footage of a girl in a bikini ducking into a muddy lake and emerging with her arm inside a gigantic catfish up to her elbow has been shared hundreds of thousands of times on Facebook by people impressed by her skills, no line or hook necessary.

‘That’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout Hannah, hold that big old fish!’ her boyfriend says in the video.

‘That right there gon’ be good in some grease.’

The video starts midway through the catch, with a man’s voice commenting, ‘He biting hard!’

‘Hannah going under, just don’t let it spin on her,’ he continues as she dives beneath the surface of the water.

She emerges again with one hand in the fish’s mouth and the other in its gill, gripping it as it flops helplessly in the air.

Forget Bear Grylls – if we’re ever stuck on a desert island, we want Hannah.
