Alligators in Florida are now just casually strolling through hotels and trying to book rooms.

A five foot long reptile was filmed taking a leisurely walk at the Quality Inn, in Sebring, last Sunday.

The animal was apparently looking to stay the night but didn’t manage to get past staff who clocked it straight away.

They immediately called the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office, which apprehended the alligator with the help of a licensed trapper.

The cops joked the reptile was looking for the ‘tiki bar’ at the hotel after posting a video of the alligator on their Facebook page.

They wrote: ‘We aren’t sure if this little guy got locked out of his room at the Quality Inn in Sebring this afternoon or what.

‘Maybe he was just looking for the tiki bar to get a margarita, but he didn’t look like he was old enough to drink and didn’t appear to have any ID in his alligator skin wallet.’

A video showed the animal strolling past a row of hotel rooms before turning to head down another hallway.
