Greed is a negative quality.  The desire to possess things without limit and never feeling satisfied make people do bad things such as monopolising wealth, lying, tricking and robbing other people's belongings or wealth. The will certainly cause hatred, disputes, division and hostilities.  This was the highlight of today's Khutbah or Friday sermon. 

In the sermon, the prayer leaders said greed could cause people to acquire non-halal or dubious sustenance or wealth.  They said if this happened, the consequence would be bad for the individual, family, community or even country.  The Messenger of Allah has given stern warning on anything that grows in a person's body which comes from prohibited sources and that Hell is the right place for such people.  The sermon added Muslims are obligated to seek halal sustenance and not be greedy.   The prayer leaders said only Allah the Almighty will provide the halal sustenance.
