The Diving Industry in the country continues to grow over the past few years and are hoped to further active by the year 2020. The Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism voiced his hope to promote diving successfully and remain competitive amongst dive sites within the region, there is a need to feature new developments and exciting products, ensure high quality in the services offered by the local dive operators. This matter was stated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism yesterday at the Promotion of the Brunei Diving Package.

Possessing of more than 410 corals and 700 other species from various reefs in the country, which are considered as one of the most fertile in the world. There are more than 60 diving sites including the shipwreck and Oil rig areas.

A total of 8 diving packages were introduced at the event and will also be promoted to locals and international tourist through the dive operators. Also present were the diplomats from neighbouring countries, Permanent Secretary and Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, agencies from the Royal Brunei, RB, hotel management, and relevant parties for the diving industry as well as exploration and tourism operator agent.
