Man Killed, Two Others Hurt As Car Falls Into Ravine


The Perodua Myvi car that fell into the 30-meter-deep ravine at Telupid-Sandakan road.

A 29-year-old man was killed while two others were injured when the Perodua Myvi car they were in fell into a 30-meter-deep ravine at Telupid-Sandakan Road here, yesterday.

 

Jeffrey Lim Kee Wong was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel while Samsul Salahudin, 44 (driver) and Rosaliana Solong, 23 were injured and sent to Beluran Hospital for treatment.

 

Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Department head Rantey Fred said  the station received a distress call on the incident at 2.04am and they reached half an hour later with five personnel and a Scania.

 

“We managed to pull out three victims who were stuck in the car. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said.

 

The operation took over an hour.

 

The car was heading from Beluran to mile 32 Checkpoint before it skidded and plunged into the ravine.
