A ceremony last night saw the appointment of 45 new members of the Mosque Takmir Committee of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Silver Jubilee Mosque as they received their letters of appointment.

Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs was present as the guest of honour.

Haji Kamaluddin bin Haji Abdul Rahim, Imam of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Silver Jubilee Mosque opened the ceremony with the recitation of Surah al-Fatihah followed by a speech by the Chairman of the Takmir Committee, Imam Zulhazmi bin Salleh.

This was followed by the presentation of appointment letters. The event ended with the recital of Doa Selamat.

Haji Jamil bin Haji Abdul Ghani, Mosque Affairs Officer of the Brunei Muara District, earlier briefed the recipients on the Takmir Mosque Committee.

The primary objective of establishing the Takmir Committee is to assist mosque affairs officers in ensuring the welfare of the mosque as well as to give more attention to the mosque's religious affairs as well as the attendance of youths in performing their prayers at the mosque, particularly Friday prayers.
