PETALING JAYA

Four years after allegedly committing a murder, the suspects in the case must have thought they had gotten away scott-free.

But thanks to diligent police forensics investigations, a suspect was arrested after DNA evidence placed him at the crime scene.

According to Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Ali, the murder occurred on August 2013 when three victims, including a two-year-old child, were found in a pool of blood in a house in Taman Dengkil Jaya, Sepang.

He said the police forensics team gathered DNA evidence at the crime scene in the course of their investigation.

"On March 1, a Sepang CID team arrested one suspect, whose DNA profile linked him to the murder four years ago," he said.

Then at 5.30pm Thursday, follow-up investigations led police to the arrest of a second suspect involved in the murder.

ACP Abdul said the suspects were aged 20 and 22.

He did not reveal where the arrests were made.
