(KPL) The first round of the Japanese Film Festival, which was free-of-charge for state officials, was held in Vientiane Capital on January 21-22 at the ITECC Mall Cineplex (8th Floor).

The second round of the festival will be held on 28-29 January.  Entry tickets are 10,000 kip each and are available at the ITECC Mall.

The festival aims to promote cultural exchange through film and gives Lao audiences a chance to experience the big screen and cinematic atmosphere, which is better than watching TV.

Eight films will be screened including: What a Wonderful Family, The Mohican Comes Home, Chihayafuru Part I and II, the Magnificent Nine, An, The Boy, The Beast, and The Anthem of the Heart.

All films feature the Japanese language with subtitles in Lao
