Lion Casually Walks Through City Centre

We’d run if we saw this (Picture: Caters)

Look at this lion casually walking through a city centre.

It seemed like he didn’t have a worry in the world.

But everyone else was s***ting their pants of course when they saw him in Johannesburg, South Africa.

They needn’t have worried though as Columbus was just ‘acting’ as part of a local production.

There was one big problem though.

The company involved never told the authorities.

According to the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), the filming had not been cleared and the film company took a risk by releasing the lion into the city, without previously getting approval to close several roads.

Irvaan Dolley, from Ibiza, Spain, who witnessed the lion walk past, said: ‘It was a strange sight to see the lion strolling through the city like that and my first thought was to run.’

Luckily no-one was hurt but Zanta Myeza, from the JRA, added: ‘We sit down with the JOC to get all the people who are involved into the same room – including the police department – to see if we all agree on something like that taking place.

‘The people who were there were taking chances.’

Columbus normally resides at nearby lion park.
