KG PANDAN, KUALA BELAIT

St James' School recently held a Recognition Day at the Kampong Pandan Community Hall, for its outstanding students of 2015.

Eighty-nine students received awards of varying categories, which included the Loyalty Award for those who had been in the school from Kindergarten to Year 11; the Academic Award for the top three students in primary and secondary levels; Outstanding Achievements in PSR of 2015; and Outstanding Achievements in the GCE 'O' Level Examination of 2015.

On hand to present the awards was Awang Haji Aziz bin Haji Nayan, a Senior Special Duties Officer (Corporate) at the Department of Schools of the Ministry of Education, who was accompanied by the Principal of St James' School, Awang Haji Md Masa Masdi bin Md Sa'idun.

In his welcoming remarks, the principal said that the event was an appreciation of the students' achievements, and a motivation for them to continue to excel.

"To bring out the best in every student is the ultimate goal of education and this is a timeless objective. It has not changed over the years," he said, adding that education prepares students for the future, while Brunei continues to evolve as a nation.

The award for Outstanding Student of 2015 went to Anastasya Eka Narwastu Napitupulu, Year 11, who scored 10 'O' levels.
