From January to 2nd of May, 120 people have embraced Islam in the country. A Kadazan-Dusun man chose Islam as his new faith. The conversion ceremony took place on 5th May afternoon, at the Kampung Lambak Kanan National Housing Scheme.

Laurell Wharton (37) is now known as Muhammad Aliff Astellero bin Abdullah. The ceremony was conducted in the presence of officials from the Da'wah Development Division, Islamic Da'wah Centre.
