Islam forbids all types of gambling, either through games or entertainment, and considers gambling a major sin. Gambling is becoming easier with the presence of latest games such as Claw Machine, Balloon Popper or Pop The Balloon, Basketball Machine and Ring Toss. It is Haram to gamble and Muslims are prohibited from being involved in such games either as players, game providers, advertisers and so on. The reminder was made during Friday Sermon titled 'Avoid today's games that contains elements of gambling.'

The Imam or Prayer Leader said Claw machine is a type of arcade game where one uses a claw to try to get the prizes from inside the machine, paying a certain amount as a bet. Specifically and practically, this game has elements of gambling that is prohibited in Islam. First, players are required to pay a certain amount of money as a bet to get a prize. Second, the game depends more on luck as to whether one will get a prize or not. Third, the game will result in either winning or losing.
