The integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, STEAM acts as a catalyst for innovation and progress. Hence, the demand for students skilled in STEAM fields is also increasing, by equipping skilled and knowledgeable students as well as nurturing creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The matter was among those touched upon by the MINISTER of EDUCATION at the Opening Ceremony of the 6th School Leaders Convention. The event organised by the Department of Educators Management in collaboration with the Department of Schools took place on 1st May morning, at BRIDEX Hall, Jerudong. Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh stated that the Science, Technology and Environment Partnership Centre, STEP; and Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre, EIC; work towards creating learning opportunities to integrate various disciplines that utilise adaptability, resilience and student mind-set.

The ceremony was followed by the launching of the "Digital Citizenship Framework and Handbook".

The framework equips comprehensive guidance to stakeholders in enhancing their knowledge, relevant skills, attitudes and core values as responsible users in the digital world. More than 3 hundred participants comprising School leaders attended the convention.

Themed "Quality Leaders, Quality Education", the convention, among others, aimed to strengthen systemic cohesion within the Ministry of Education by nurturing a culture of collaboration between all stakeholders.
