Petronas recently hosted the inaugural Sarawak Oil and Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) Partners Day in Bintulu, bringing local vendors together to cultivate a sustainable and robust OGSE ecosystem.

Petronas, in a statement, said the event was held as part of its commitment   to drive the industry forward amidst the ongoing energy transition.

Approximately 500 licensed and registered vendors gathered at the event to gain insights into the updated OGSE programmes and engage in networking sessions to encourage collaborations and partnerships that could enhance their competitiveness in the industry.

Syaharudin Hassan, Petronas head of industry shaping and collaboration, Group Procurement, expressed the company’s dedication to improving the capability and capacity of its vendors.

“This OGSE Partners Day in Bintulu is an example of those efforts to catalyse the vendors’ growth and competency to nurture a robust OGSE ecosystem,” he said.

The event featured industry leaders and subject matter experts who shared their perspectives on current industry trends and best practices.

Discussions included topics such as vendor financing, licensing and registration, sustainability, the Punchout business-to-business (B2B) marketplace, and technology.

Petronas said it continues to play its role in supporting the government’s initiatives to boost the country’s economic growth.

By fostering a collaborative effort among industry stakeholders, financial institutions and government agencies, it said a supportive ecosystem is being created to attract, train and retain skilled workers in the industry, ensuring sustainable and long-term growth.
