​The month of Zulhijah is commonly known as the month that is dedicated to the pilgrimage and the rites of sacrifice. However, the specialness of Zulhijah is not limited to the two acts of worship, in fact, its first ten days are great and very special days in the sight of Allah. The matter was among the contents of the Friday Sermon titled ''Menghidupkan 10 Hari Pertama Di bulan Zulhijjah" or "Enlivening the First 10 Days of the month of Zulhijah".

According to the imam or prayer leader, among some of the most important practices that should be done and multiplied on those days are:

Firstly, to increase sunat or commendable prayers. Sunat prayers are special as it can act as a patch to any shortcomings that occur during the obligatory prayers performed. Since the first ten days of Zulhijah are days in which religious deeds are most liked by Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala, thus the Sunat prayers are highly recommended. The Sunat fast that is highly recommended is the fast on the Day of Arafah, on the 9th of Zulhijah. The Sunat fast of Arafah is a Sunat Muakkadah, which is a sunat or commendable act that is highly demanded for those who are not performing the haj. On the other hand, people who are performing the haj are advised not to fast even if they are able to do so. Similarly, it is not commendable for travellers or the ailing to fast on the Day of Arafah if by doing so, it will bring about difficulties to them. And third, to increase the recitations of zikir as mentioned by Rasulullah SAW in which he encouraged increasing zikir recitations on those days.
