The month of Zulhijjah is approaching. In general, all Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha and perform rites of sacrifice. The rites of sacrifice is part of the Islamic eminence which we must honour and respect. Allah Subhanahu Wa ta'ala explains in the Al-Quran that honouring and respecting the Islamic eminence is a sign of piety in the hearts of believers. The matter was included in the Friday Sermon titled, "IBADAH KORBAN MEMBENTUK SIFAT MAHMUDAH" or RITES OF SACRIFICE DEVELOPES PRAISEWORTHY ATTRIBUTES.

According to the Imam or prayer leader, indeed, the rites of sacrifice that we perform, apart from being a form of worship that yields reward, it is also an educative avenue for the development of praiseworthy attributes and noble Islamic values in a person. Among the commendable attributes that maybe formed through the rites of sacrifice are: Firstly, sincerity in performing any worship commanded by Islamic law. Secondly, constant gratitude. Thirdly, patience in facing whatever test that befalls one in life and lastly, inculcate compassion and a helpful attitude towards the underprivileged. In fact, the rites of sacrifice can foster a concern attitude for the community, especially for the poor and destitute.
