Learning Materials Donated For School Children In Need

VIENTIANE

 

(KPL) Samsung presented 1,300 sets of learning materials, worth 12,000 US dollars, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Feb 3.

 

The handover took place in Vientiane between Managing Director, Samsung Electronics to Cambodia and Laos, Hyung Geun Lee, and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Phoxay Khaykhamphithoun in the presence of relevant officials.

 

The learning materials will be further presented to primary schools in need in remote areas, especially in Huaphan.

 

Mr Hyung Geun Lee said, “Today handover of educational materials has been made possible by the Samsung Love & Care project which is an activity of Laos Samsung Electronics to promote education of schools in need of learning materials and Samsung believes that this will create foundation for sustainable development in the society.”

 

Expressing thanks for the generous support of Samsung, Deputy Prime Minister Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune appreciated Samsung’s development of innovations and cutting edge technology which are largely used worldwide and spoke highly of Samsung’s investment in Laos which has contributed to its socio-economic development over the past years.

 

He expressed his hope that Samsung will continue to increase its investment and record greater achievements over years to come.

 

He also invited the company to build a factory in Laos thus promoting employment and socio-economic development in the country.
