The country’s tough-talking leader has a mischievous potty mouth and the public would just have to live with it.

President Duterte has made no secret about his use of foul language even during the campaign and still managed to win voters’ support despite his vulgar remarks, according to Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.

Andanar defended the President after drawing criticisms for his profanity-filled attacks against foreign leaders and organizations that criticized his bloody campaign against illegal drugs.

“Pagdating po doon sa linguahe ng ating Pangulo kapag ginagamit niya po iyong “PI” na word ay sinabi na naman ng Pangulo na ito talaga ay kanyang nakasanayan na at ito talaga ‘yung the way that he talks so wala ho naman tayong tinatago at hindi naman tayo nagkunwari din [When it comes to the President’s language and use of the ’PI’ cuss, the President said he has grown used to this and this is the way that he talks. We did not hide anything or try to pretend],” Andanar said over government radio.

Andanar pointed out that the President’s supporters also don’t seem to mind his foul mouth.
