The First Meeting of the 18th Legislative Council Session lowered its curtain on the seventh day, by approving a Resolution under Clause 7, Article 83 of the Constitution of Brunei Darussalam 1959, and the Resolution under Section 4-2 of the Development Fund Act, Chapter 136 as well as adjournment speeches from Members of the Legislative Council.

 

The Resolution under Clause 7 of Article 83 of the Constitution of Brunei Darussalam 1959, that every Order made under Clause 3, Matter 83 of the Brunei Darussalam Constitution presented to the Legislative Council as Paper Number 1, 2022 was proposed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs. The Council approved it without deliberation and have received the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to be used. Part of the Orders has already been carried out and used in 2021 and another part have begun to be carried out this year. All of the orders were gazetted according to the regulations from Constitution of Brunei Darussalam.

 

Meanwhile, the Second Resolution under Section 4-2 of the Development Fund Act, Chapter 136 for the budget of 350 million Brunei Dollars for allocation approval and requested from the Development Fund for specific purposes has been approved by the Council to be made into an Act. The resolution proposed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy is to enable the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to continue the National Development Plan as scheduled.
