A local woman was charged in court yesterday with aborting her child and was released on bail to make way for further investigations of the case.

Nuramallinie @ Amal binti Suhailie is alleged to have caused the miscarriage to herself by consuming pills to induce it at a house in Perumahan Kampong Sungal Bunga
in the late evening of August 31, 2016.
Senior Magistrate Haji Nabil Daraina bin Pehin Dato Ustaz Haji Badaruddin released the defendant out on bail of $3,000 or in one local surety and ordered for the defendant's medical attention as well as 24-hour police supervision.
Prosecutor Zuraidah Sidek conducted the case.
