​2 Indonesian men were charged for an offence under the Immigration Act Chapter 17. Both men were apprehended during the Operasi Pumpung conducted by the Immigration and National Registration Department of Belait District at a house in Jalan Maulana, Kuala Belait on the 2nd of November 2020.

 

NUR MAARIF, 55, was charged for 2 offences which were Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act Chapter 17 for illegally entering the country which brings to a sentence of 6 months imprisonment; and Section 36 of the Immigration Act Chapter 17 for re-entering the country after been deported which brings to a sentence of one year and 2 months imprisonment.

 

Meanwhile, ANTOK WIBOWO, 32, was charged for an offence under Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act Chapter 17 for overstaying in the country after his immigration pass has expired. He was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of the cane.
