It is not permissible to throw away books or papers that contain qur'anic verses. The correct and respectful way to dispose of a Qur'an, according to the teachings of Islam is to return the material naturally to the earth.

A local company, 'Mana Saja Servis' has been providing such disposal services for four years. Before starting the business, the owner, Awang Mohamad Paizzal bin Haji Piluk researched through various platforms including social media. He said, the disposal process is handled with the utmost care and respect

Currently, 'Mana Saja Servis' received encouraging response for the disposal of old Al-Qur'an, including from several mosques. The company charges 4 dollars per kilogramme for such a service.
