​When Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches, Muslims in the country will return home to celebrate the coming of Syawal with their families, relatives and friends. However, not everyone get to do so, especially those who are overseas due to certain reasons such as work or studies.

Pengiran Muhammad Khairulannam bin Pengiran Kamsani and family who are in the United Kingdom since last year welcomed Syawal in London by performing the Sunat Hari Raya Aidilfitri prayer, followed by reciprocal visits while enjoying traditional meals.

For Awang Jamalarippin bin Jini's family in the Islamic Republic of Iran, there is a clear difference in the festive atmosphere of Aidilfitri between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Brunei Darussalam.

The same can also be said in Japan. Such celebration is not as lively despite the presence of Muslim community in the said country.

Whereas in South Korea, Aidilfitri was celebrated in a festive atmosphere by students who further their studies there.

Celebrating Hari Raya while being far away from the family can make one further appreciate the ties that have been fostered despite the different background.
