Food Security Tackled In 8th Cabinet Meeting

Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday, Sept. 12, attended President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s 8th Cabinet meeting in Malacañang where the government officials discussed key issues surrounding the country’s food security.
In a Facebook post, the Vice President and concurrent Education chief shared that she was joined by other Cabinet members during the meeting.
“Sa pangunguna ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. pinag-usapan ang pagtugon ng gobyerno sa usapin ng (With President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on the helm, we talked about how the government will address the issue on) food security na posibleng dala ng epekto ng krisis sa ibang bansa (that was possibly brought by the effects of crisis in other countries),” she said.
“Natalakay din ang mga hakbang para masiguro ang food logistics ng Pilipinas at mga isyu na posibleng makaapekto dito (The steps to ensure food logistics in the Philippines were also discussed and the issues that could possibly affect this),” Duterte wrote.
In the past weeks, the government had needed to address possible shortages and crises on basic food items, such as sugar and onions. Prices of most goods have also gone up in the market despite the lower inflation rate recorded.
