It’s health over love and money for Filipinos.

This was according to the result of the most recent survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) which was released Sunday, Feb. 13.

In the survey conducted from Dec. 12 to 16, 2021, respondents were asked: “If you could have only one of the following, which would you pick: money, health, or love?”

SWS said health has emerged as the top choice after it garnered 57 percent. It was followed by love with 31 percent preference.

Apparently, adult Filipinos least preferred money as it only attained 11 percent.

“Compared to December 2019, before the pandemic, preference for health fell by 13 points from 70 percent,” SWS noted.

Meanwhile, SWS observed that preference for love rose by eight points from 23 percent, while preference for money rose by four points from seven percent.

More women prefer health over love, money

Sixty percent of women respondents picked health over love and money, which is six points higher than of the 54 percent among men respondents.

In the December 2019 survey, preference for health over love and money fell among both women and men.

“It fell by 12 points from 72 percent among women and by 13 points from 67 percent among men,” SWS noted.

Meanwhile, preference for love over health and money rose by nine points among women, from 20 percent to 29 percent, and by seven points among men, from 26 percent to 34 percent.

It was also observed that preference for money over health and love rose by four points among women, from seven percent to 11 percent, and by six points among men, from six percent to 12 percent.

Notably, preference for health over love and money is highest among women who have live-in partners (68 percent).

It was then followed by single women with 63 percent and was followed by married women with 56 percent.

On the other hand, men’s preference for health over love and money is highest among those who are single (58 percent), followed by those with a live-in partner (54 percent) and those who are married (52 percent).
