ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards 2019 Gala Night

A film co-produced by Brunei Darussalam and Laos, 'Rina 2', has received the ASEAN Spirit Award ASEAN International Film Festival and awards AIFFA 2019 Gala Night.  The event was held at Pullman Hotel in Kuching, Sarawak last night.

 

The awards were presented by Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah,Sarawak's Minister of Tourism, Art,Culture and Youth, who was accompanied by Ms Livan Tajang, AIFFA Festival Director. Meanwhile, the local film, 'Hari Minggu Yang Ke 4' was among the 3 films which received the Special Jury Award.  Over 100 films from 10 ASEAN Countries competed in the nine film categories where RINA2 was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category while Brunei actor Shafiee Mostar from 'Hari Minggu yang ke Empat' was nominated in the Best Actor Category.  This is the Fourth edition of AIFFA.  The First AIFFA in 2013 awarded Brunei Film 'Ada Apa Dengan Rina' with a Special Jury Award. The second AIFFA in 2015 awarded Brunei Actress, Nadiah Wahid in the film 'Yasmine' as Best Supporting Actress.
