Two Drivers Given Compound Fines

A local and a Malaysian driver have been handed compounds for failing to wear a seat belt while driving.
The compounds were issued to Foo Lee Kim and Hii Leh Na during a mobile operation by enforcers from the Land Transport Department to ensure that all drivers and vehicles on the road do not violate any Road Traffic Acts and Regulations. Failure to adhere to the set Acts and Regulations, specifically for not wearing a seat belt while driving, the driver can be issued a compound and Demerit Points as follows: For the First Offence: 150 dollars and 9 Demerit Points, Second Offence: 3 hundred dollars and 9 Demerit Points, Third Offence: Five hundred dollars and 9 Demerit Points and for the Fourth offence, the driver can be produced in court.
