Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has brought various development projects to Sarawak since he became Prime Minister.

Besides that, he had initiated 165 programmes for the state since becoming the prime minister, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said.

“We should give our full support to Najib and Barisan Nasional to ensure victory in the 14th general election (GE14 ) and for Najib to remain as our Prime Minister,” he said at the launching of BN’s election machinery for Betong parliamentary constituency at Dewan Sukan Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan here yesterday.

He reminded that the state could have unity because its leaders had been fair in developing the state.

‘There are candidates who will use racial issues to get support and in the process they destroy the unity that has been existing for a long time.

“In this regard, the election machinery must make every effort to win the people’s heart and build stronger spirit of unity to give BN a bigger mandate during this 14th general election.”

He advised all BN election front liners to be gentle in their approach as it is not the coalition’s way to create trouble.

“BN machinery must make sure that opponents who come from outside abide by the law of the country and the state and any problem arising must be solved amicably in the right way. This is because their method might not be the same as ours.”

Later, he handed over BN flags to representatives of Balai Ringin, Bukit Begunan, Simanggang, Engkilili, Batang Ai, Saribas, Layar, Bukit Saban, Kalaka, Krian and Kabong state constituencies which make up Zone 5 of PBB.

Minister of Utilities Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Layar assemblyman Gerald Rentap Jabu, State Science Research advisor Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang and his wife Tan Sri Dato Sri Empiang Jabu, Saribas assemblyman Razi Sitam, Kabong assemblyman Chee Kadir and former Bukit Saban assemblyman Robert Lawson Chuat were present.
