Get-Together Ceremony

AUSTRALIA, PERTH
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended a get-together ceremony with citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam who are currently in Australia. The ceremony was held at Hilton Hotel, Sydney, Australia.
At the hotel, His Majesty was greeted by His Excellency Awang Haji Zakaria bin Haji Ahmad, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Australia, and Awang Muhammad Romulus bin Awang Muhammad Roland, as well as Awang Abdul Haziq Hazmi bin Haji Abd Nasir, President and Vice President of the Brunei Students' Union in Sydney.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was ushered to Function Room 2 for a light refreshment with the Brunei Students' representatives. His Majesty then signed a commemorative parchment before joining a photograph session with senior officers of the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in Australia.
His Majesty then proceeded to the Grand Ballroom A for the Get-Together Ceremony. The ceremony began with the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam by the Brunei Student's Union in Sydney.
Followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Awangku Muhammad Abdul Hakeem bin Pengiran Roseli while the translation of the verses was read by Awang Muhamad Faris bin Ali, students from the University of South Wales.
Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr.) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
In his welcoming address on behalf of all the students, Awang Muhammad Romulus bin Awang Muhammad Roland, President of the Brunei Students' Union in Sydney, among others, delivered a pledge of unwavering loyalty and allegiance to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
In the ceremony His Majesty received a 'pesambah', presented by the President of the the Brunei Students' Union in Sydney
Before leaving the ceremony, His Majesty proceeded to mingle and meet with more than 300 citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam consisting of students, government officials, as well as those on vacation in Australia. As titah made by His Majesty, such ceremony provides opportunity to His Majesty to get to know even closer the well-being of citizens and residents specifically students who are studying overseas.
The students welcome His Majesty's titah to strongly uphold to culture and self-identity as a Bruneian.
