Awang Haji Muhammad Nazirulariffin Bin Haji Muhammad Zaini and Dayang Amal Afiqah Binti Ali, from the Ministry of Finance have emerged as the champion for qari and qariah respectively in the Al-Quran Verses Reading Competition for the Ministry of Finance and its departments for 1439 hijrah / 2018 Masehi. Prize presentation ceremony was held yesterday afternoon at the Dewan Teater of the Ministry of Finance at Commonwealth Drive in Jalan Kebangsaan.

12 participants comprising 6 Qari and 6 Qariah took part in the competition. It is an annual event of the Ministry and its departments to encourage the reading of Al-Quran verses apart from presenting talents among officers and staff of the Ministry. Prizes were handed over by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance. This year's competition was organised by the Brunei Investment Agency. Also present was Dato Seri Paduka Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister of Finance (Fiscal).
