Scholarship Scheme for Air Traffic Officer Award Ceremony

The Scholarship Scheme for Air Traffic Officer is a part of the measures taken by the Department of Civil Aviation to ensure that the aviation services in the country are safe and efficient. 8 graduates from several high education institutions were awarded with the said scheme and they will undergo training as Air Traffic Officers. The Scholarship Award Ceremony took place yesterday morning at Dewan Amar Pahlawan, Ministry of Communications.

The scholarship award was presented by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Minister of Communications. Scholarship recipients will take part in two training phases for one year. The first 6 months they will be at Malaysia Aviation Academy (MAVA), and the next 6 months they will train locally.  According to the Department of Civil Aviation, participants who successfully obtain their licence within the stipulated period will be offered a job at the department's Air Traffic Services Section. Among those in attendance were Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications; Doktor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education; and Doctor Haji Supry bin Haji Awang Ladi, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications. The Minister of Communications hoped that the recipients will show their highest commitment in their training and education to achieve their target, as this will guarantee them a job at the Department of Civil Aviation.
