(KPL) Over 100 photographs portraying strong ties and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam are being exhibited at National Culture Hall in Vientiane through Dec 9.
Launched on Dec 6, the photo exhibition is co-organized by Lao News Agency and Vietnam News Agency to celebrate the two historic days namely the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Laos and Vietnam (Sep 5, 1962-2017) and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Laos-Vietnam Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (Jul 18, 1977-2017).
The highly valued photos portray livably and deeply over half a century of closeness, and the fighting side by side between Parties, governments and people of Laos and Vietnam against invading powers for the freedom of their countries, and the friendship and special solidarity between the two countries.
The opening of the event saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Savankhone Razmountry, Director General of Lao News Agency Sounthone Khanthavong, and Director General of Vietnam News Agency Nguyen Duc Loi, representatives of relevant organizations and media practitioners of the two countries.
“This photo exhibition not only represents the fruitfulness and victory of traditional relation and cooperation between the two countries but also portrays the strong relations and cooperation between Lao and Vietnamese news agencies which have been in existence for a long time, since the time of national liberalization,” said Mr Savankhone.
