The global show for general aviation AERO Friedrichshafen kicks off on Wednesday in the southern German city of Friedrichshafen, attracting 606 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions.

The yearly event, from April 20 to 23 this year, is to attract around 33,000 professional visitors, according to the organizer.

Roland Bosch, who is responsible for AERO project, said that he hopes the event will encourage future pilots' dream of flight and give them the boost they need to take to the air.

"Would-be pilots need to be guided on board as early as possible to get the young people excited about aircraft," he added.

AERO is believed to be Europe's largest and most important show for general aviation, which is represented by single- and multi-engine piston aircraft, helicopters, gyrocopters, turboprops,  multi-engine jets, and historic gliders.
