Mass Fardhu Maghrib and Isha' prayers as well as the reading of Surah Yasin and Doa Kesyukuran were held last night in conjunction with the country's 33rd National Day also took place at all mosques, surau and prayer halls throughout the country.

In the Belait district, the ceremony was held at Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait. Present was Retired First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence. Also in attendance was legislative council member, Yang Berhormat Hanapi bin Mohd Siput, Acting Penghulu of Mukim Labi AND Awang Haji Harris bin Othman, the Belait District Officer.

In the Tutong District, the focal point was the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong Town. Among those present was Dato Paduka Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Also present were Legislative Council members, Yang Berhormat Awg Hj Umarali bin Esong, Yang Berhormat Awang Hj Abd Wahab bin Apong who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya, Yang Berhormat Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit as the Penghulu of Mukim Telisai and Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Mohd Hussain, the Tutong District Officer.

Meanwhile in Temburong District, a similar ceremony was held at the Mohammad Salleh Main Mosque in Bangar Town. Present was Dato Paduka Awg Haji Suhaimi Bin Haji Gafar, Deputy Minister of Development. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Bokok and Awg Md Amir Hairil Bin Awg Hj Mahmud, The Temburong District Officer.
