(KPL) Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumsay Kommasith, representing the government of Laos, on Feb 17 pinned a friendship medal on outgoing Cambodian Ambassador to Laos Hos Sereythonh in recognition of his hard work and contributions to enhancing the relations and cooperation between Laos and Cambodia.

Minister Saleumxay praised Ambassador Hos Sereythonh on the fulfillment of his diplomatic mission in Laos saying that it significantly contributed to enhancing the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, especially the celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Laos and Cambodia.

Last year, two countries opened a Lao consulate in Sieng Treng Province, and Cambodian consulate in Champassak Province.

Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and his Cambodia counterpart Hun Sen opened a common international border checkpoint in Nong Nokkhiane, Champassak Province of Laos and Trapeang Kriel, Treng Province of Cambodia.

Ambassador Hos Sereythonh expressed appreciation to the government of Laos for the cooperation, support and assistance extended to him over the past three years of his diplomatic tenure.

Minister Saleumxay expressed his belief that Ambassador Hos Sereythonh would continue to contribute to strengthening the longstanding friendly relations between Laos and Cambodia to bring greater benefits to the people of the two nations.
