DBP’s Dudun Bahasa To Empower The Use of Malay Language

To empower the use Malay Language amongst the community, especially the youth, the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) has organised the `Dudun Bahasa' or Language Visit activity at numerous schools across the country.
Hajah Sariani binti Haji Ishak, the Head of Language Deveopment and Growth of DBP led a briefing yesterday where around 100 students from pre-school up to Year 6 was present.
She stated that the activity's main objective was to uphold His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam's wishes and declaration of PAT as the Language Month.
Apart from being one of DBP's annual activities, the Dudun Bahasa also serves as platform for youth to learn about different Malay dialects aside from the standard, she said.
The event was followed by games, quizzes and many other activities participated by the students.
