GCC Host Farewell Dinner for Outgoing Turkish Envoy

The ambassadors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in Brunei Darussalam, held a farewell dinner at The Empire Hotel & Country Club, yesterday, for the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Brunei Darussalam, Fikret Oguz Ates, and his spouse, Magda Ates.
During the farewell dinner, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Brunei Darussalam, Saleh Mohammed Al-Nesef; Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Brunei Darussalam, Dr Fahad Mashary Al-Thafiri; the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam, Hisham bin Abdul Wahab bin Abdullah Zaraa; and the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel AlMaskari, and his spouse, Hasanaa Al-Musalhi, congratulated the outgoing envoy for completing
his tenure in Brunei Darussalam and wished him success for his next assignment.
Meanwhile, Fikret Oguz Ates expressed gratitude for all the cordial support and cooperation extended to him during his stay in Brunei and wished his colleagues all the best in their endeavors to strengthen the bilateral relations between their countries and Brunei Darussalam.
The event was attended by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, and his spouse, Pengiran Datin Nuur'Izzah Nabilah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad Mandi Al-Sufri.
Also in attendance were the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, Nurul Qomar; the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam, Cho Won-myung; the Ambassador of the United States of America to Brunei Darussalam, Craig Boyd Allen, and his spouse Micheline Tusenius, as well as the Ambassador• of the Russian Federation to Brunei Darussalam,Vladlen Semivolos, and his wife, Elena Semivolos.
Fikret Oguz Ates presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam in December 2013.
He will return to Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara on November 6.
