​Products and services that take Maqasid Shariah into account will be the focus of the 6th International Seminar on Halalan Thayyiban Products and Services. The seminar is one of the theme focus of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition, MYCE 2023 under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. It is organised by the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA through the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The event will take place at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah on the 5th to 7th of June 2023.

 

In an interview with the Director of the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre as the upcoming seminar's chairperson, Pengiran Doctor Hajah Norkhairiah binti Pengiran Haji Hashim explained that this year's theme is 'Enhancing Halal Sustainability through Maqasid Shariah', with the focus on producing sustainable halalan thayyiban products and services. Among the main objectives of the seminar is to introduce and empower the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB's halal certification. Apart from that, the seminar also aims to introduce and provide a discussion platform for regional and international halal authority bodies, and highlight the specialty as well as benefits of the halalan thayyiban industry.

 

Participation is still open and members of the public are welcomed to take part in the seminar. Registration can be made by emailing '[email protected]' or contact 861 1691.
