​A local woman was brought before the Kuala Belait Magistrate Court for two offences under the Excise Order 2006.

Nur Nadiah Binti Muhammad Amiruddin @ Vidiana Anak Bedendang, 29-year-old, was found guilty for possessing 7 cartons and 9 packets of cigarettes of various brands and 7 bottles of alcoholic drinks. The arrest was made at Terrace Housing, Kampung Sungai Bakong, Lumut.

She pleaded guilty for the offences and was fined $6,200 dollars or 6 months imprisonment in default for the first offence. She was also imposed a $5,000 fine or 5 months imprisonment in default for another offence.

All contraband were seized to be destroyed.
