Several Efforts Can Be Made To Deal With Dementia

The high rate of Non-Communicable Diseases, NCD in Brunei Darussalam is a risk factor for dementia. The risk of developing dementia is higher for those who have uncontrolled non-communicable diseases, compared to those who can control non-communicable diseases well.
According to Doctor Hajah Amal Nadzirah binti Rosli, Medical Officer at the Geriatrics Department of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital, several efforts can be made to deal with dementia including knowing the symptoms and risk factors of dementia and increasing daily physical activities.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Health has also prepared and will always examine the need for a health system and infrastructure that is easily accessible and fair and of high quality. It aims to ensure that all individuals in the country will be able to benefit from the services provided.
