SINGAPORE
The police have arrested a 58-year-old man after he allegedly attacked a 62-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman with a knife at Block 510A Yishun Street 51 on Thursday (June 23) night.
The authorities were alerted to the case at 8.30pm on Thursday and the 58-year-old was arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous means and suspected drug-related offences, the police said in a statement on Friday.
The two victims were conscious when taken to the hospital, added the police.
A video titled "slashing incident at Blk 510A Yishun" posted on Facebook page Singapore Incidents shows several police cars and an ambulance at what appears to be the open-air car park outside the block in Yishun.
Several people were seen in the video at the foot of the building looking up towards the block.
An emergency siren was heard throughout the video.
The later part of the video shows what appears to be a trail of dark spots on the ground leading to a housing unit.
“The attack purportedly arose from a prior dispute between both men who are known to each other,” said the police.
Police investigations are ongoing.
