Pleasure For Husband Turns Pains For
Wife

Begawan - "How could he? Why has he done this to me?"
She was furious, dumbfounded and
beyond all disappointment. She felt that her head was going to
burst. And she tried to fight back a sudden fit of giddiness. She
was shaking all over and felt that she was going to die that very
instant.
"I had been his faithful wife for
more than 20 years. I gave him all the support. I had been by his
side through thick and thin and now this," she wailed.
She was in her late 40s. She must
have been once beautiful. And those days her husband loved her
dearly. And she had no reason to believe that he did not love her
still.
Until now. Because the very
foundations of her love and thrust were rudely shaken, in fact,
practically destroyed.
She now had no doubt what her husband
had been up to. Now she was certain that he had been up to no good.
And the doctor confirmed it, this
very morning. She had not been content with one medical
practitioner. She had obtained second opinion just to make sure. Now
there was no mistake about it.
"You are suffering from an advanced
form of venereal disease," the doctor told her. "You need immediate
and intensive treatment."
"How could that be? I have been a
virtuous wife. My only man is my dear husband," the puzzled wife
told the woman doctor. "Perhaps there is a mistake. "There is no
mistake. We have conducted extensive tests. I will begin treatment
right away; there is little time to waste. Your condition is highly
contagious," advised the doctor.
The wife, although in a state of
shock, managed to stammer yes in a state of growing shame and
confusion.
"And I would recommend your husband
to see me or any other doctor," said the doctor as the unhappy woman
left.
Back home she waited for her husband.
And when he finally came she said, "I have just been to a doctor."
She tried to keep control of herself.
She felt she was strangely calm, given the horrendous situation she
was in.
"What, pregnant again?" the husband
joked.
She still did not show the inner
turmoil that raked her soul, which seemed to shatter her to pieces.
"No," she said. "I have advanced
venereal disease...so the doctor tells me."
There was a brief moment of silence.
And then he stormed out of the house. He said nothing.
She had no choice now but to consult
a lawyer. She thought long and hard. There seemed no other way
despite the shame of it all, however.
I do not know how the matter ended.
But this should be a lesson to all of us.
Men are not angels. Being human they
tend to make a slip here and there occasionally. But it is a
different matter when they habitually stray.
However, to all of them I should say
one vital word: Protection.
And to our young, sex education is a
must, especially so in this era of easy travel. For no one can tell
what the wind has blown in.
