Cosmetic Products Found Adulterated

​Four types of cosmetic products which have been tested by the Laboratory of Pharmacy Section, Department of Scientific Services, Ministry of Health and found to be adulterated with undeclared, potent western medicine. In this regard, the Ministry of Health informs the public not to use the products which can cause yang adverse effects that are potentially hazardous to the people using them.
Deeja Cosmetic Set 5 in 1 – Laika Cream and Skin Beauty – Night Cream from Malaysia were found to be adulterated with mercury.
While product from the Philippines, Shantahl Rejuvenating Set - Rejuvenating Toner, was found to be adulterated with Tretinoin and Hydroquinone and Shantahl Rejuvenating Set – Night Cream was found to be adulterated with Tretinoin.
The Ministry of Health has not issued any approval for the importation of sale and/or Cosmetic Notification Acknowledgement Letter for the stated product. Therefore, the products as listed above are not allowed to be imported and sold in Brunei Darussalam.
