Muslims need to oppose wrongdoing, in order to be safe from divine chastisements in the form of droughts, natural disasters and afflictions, said Imams in yesterday's Friday sermon.

"When disobedience and wrongdoing are so often seen and heard, they will be taken for granted, and so society will not view these as evil," said the sermon.

Muslims were also urged to oppose wrongdoing from the heart, and not to lose hope in the face of fierce hostility and criticism, when resisting evil.

The sermon concluded by calling on Muslims to prevent moral crimes by promoting decency and goodness within their families, and also among society.
