The Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) yesterday conducted a Tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum to pay respects to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's late parents, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Dull Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

The religious ceremony was led by Dr Ustaz Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Acting Ra'es of KUPU SB and attended by senior officers, assistant lecturers, staff, personnel and students.

The Tahlil began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and Doa led by Ustaz Haji Manan bin Haji Osman, Head of the Spiritual Unit of Student Affairs.

The `Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan' was read by Dr Ustaz Haji Adanan.

KUPU SB said the primary objectives of the event were to uphold and embrace the holy month of Ramadhan with full respect, to encourage a sense of piety and devoutness among the community of KUPU SB, to absorb lessons learnt from the exemplary characteristics exhibited and practised by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) especially in the month of Ramadhan as well as in other months of the year, to enhance and advocate the religious activities during the month of Ramadhan and to forge closer relationships among the community of the KUPU SB.
